About kW Calculator

kwcalculator.com converts electrical power units and shows the formula behind every number it produces. The site exists because most conversion tools return a figure with no working, which leaves the reader unable to check it or to reuse the method on a different circuit.

How the numbers are produced

Every conversion runs through one shared formula module rather than being retyped page by page. That module holds the constants the whole site uses: 0.7457 kW per mechanical horsepower, 3412.14 BTU per hour per kilowatt, 3.516853 kW per ton of refrigeration, and 1.7320508 for the square root of three.

A verification script asserts each of those constants and every worked example against hand-calculated values before the site builds. A build with a failing assertion produces no output, so a wrong figure cannot reach a published page.

What the site does not do

The site publishes no ratings, no review counts and no user numbers. Figures described as typical are labelled as reference estimates rather than measurements, because appliance draw, motor efficiency and power factor vary by model and by installation.

Electrical installation work sits outside what a converter can answer. Breaker sizing, conductor selection, generator sizing and code compliance are decided by a licensed electrician or a qualified engineer working to the electrical code that applies in the relevant jurisdiction.

Languages

The main calculator page is published in 18 languages, each one fully translated rather than machine-swapped at runtime. Supporting pages are written in English only. Every language version is listed on the sitemap page.

How the site is run

The site carries no ads and sells nothing. There is no premium tier, no paywall and no account to sign up for. Google Analytics runs on every page to show which calculators get used, and that collection is described in full on the privacy page.

A correction to a formula, a constant or a translation is the fastest way to change what this site says. The contact page covers what a useful report includes.
