Terms of Use
The calculators and reference tables on this site are general information for planning arithmetic. They are not installation guidance, not an engineering design document, and not a substitute for a calculation performed by a qualified professional.
Accuracy and verification
Formulas and constants used here are standard published relationships, and each one is asserted against hand-calculated values before the site builds. A conversion is only as accurate as the values entered into it, so a result carries the uncertainty of its inputs: an assumed power factor, an estimated run time or a nameplate figure recalled from memory each move the answer.
Values presented as typical are labelled as reference estimates. Real equipment varies by model, by load and by installation condition.
Electrical work
Breaker sizing, conductor and wire-gauge selection, generator sizing, service sizing and code compliance are decided by a licensed electrician or a qualified engineer working to the electrical code in force in the relevant jurisdiction. Nothing on this site authorises or replaces that judgement.
Liability
The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Decisions taken on the basis of a figure from this site remain the responsibility of the person taking them.
Using content from this site
The formulas themselves are published physics and engineering relationships, not this site's property, and are free to use anywhere. The specific wording, worked examples and reference tables on this site are not free to republish wholesale; a link back to the relevant page covers a citation.
